MINOR IN LATIN AMERICAN STUDIES


Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements.


Module

4.0 courses:

4.0 courses from the following list, including at least 0.5 course from each of three different departments: Anthropology 216F/G, 232F/G, 234F/G; Geography 188a/b; History 238E, 348E, 398F/G (if the special topic is related to Latin American Studies), 465F/G; Political Science 322F/G, 323F/G, the former Political Science 241E; Sociology 101F/G, 353F/G, 354F/G, the former Sociology 352E; Spanish 203F/G, 219F/G, 343F/G, 344F/G, 346F/G, 348F/G, 403F/G,405F/G.

A maximum of 1.0 of these 4.0 courses may be counted toward another module, with the permission of the respective Department and the Latin American Studies Program Coordinator.

Note: Some of these courses have prerequisites; students should take this into account when selecting first-year courses. Some courses are offered only in alternate years. There may also be special topics courses offered on Latin America in some years. Students are advised to consult the Latin American Studies Program Coordinator when planning their programs.
