MINOR IN PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY


Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements, including 1.0 course from Geography 021, 022F/G, 023a/b, 024F/G, the former 020E (Geography 023a/b is recommended) with a mark of at least 60% in each Geography course.


Module

4.5 courses:

0.5 course: Geography 201a/b or equivalent statistics course approved by the department
1.5 courses from: Geography 208a/b, 213a/b, 214a/b, 216a/b (See Note 1)
2.5 courses from: the former Geography 307a/b, 308a/b, 313a/b, 314a/b, 315a/b, 316a/b, 317a/b, 318a/b, 319a/b, 321a/b, 326a/b, 331a/b, 380a/b, or relevant selected topics courses (see Note 1).


This module may be combined in a four year degree with the following Geography modules:

BA Honors Specialization in Geography
Major in Geography
Minor in Geographic Information Science
Minor in Society, Space and Change
Minor in Watershed Processes and Management

Notes:

  1. For students combining this minor with a BA Honors Specialization in Geography, an additional 0.5 course must be selected from the former Geography 307a/b, 308a/b, 313a/b, 314a/b, 315a/b, 316a/b, 317a/b, 318a/b, 319a/b, 321a/b, 326a/b, 331a/b, 380a/b or relevant selected topics courses (see Department for approved list).
  2. Geography 213a/b, 307a/b, 313a/b, 380a/b require Geography 237a/b and or 280a/b which must be taken outside the module.
  3. Geography 201a/b may be counted towards both the Minor in Physical Geography and another permitted Geography module. No other overlapping courses are permitted.
