APPLICATION PROCEDURES

To meet the needs of applicants with diverse backgrounds, Western has developed a number of admission categories.

Students presenting the OSSD who wish to begin full-time studies at Western or at one of its affiliated colleges (Brescia, Huron, King's) apply for admission on the OUAC 101 form available through all secondary schools.

Ontario Grade 12 students (OSSD with a minimum 24 credits) applying for admission to Preliminary Year at Brescia University College also use this form.

Candidates with acceptable standing at accredited degree-granting institutions may be considered for admission provided that the content of studies completed is equivalent in content to the courses offered by Western, and to the requirements of the program to which the student has applied. The university will review other candidates on an individual basis. Admission in all cases is competitive.

All other candidates for full-time undergraduate studies use the OUAC 105 form, available from the Ontario Universities' Application Centre or apply on-line at http://www.ouac.on.ca. Applicants in this category include: previous secondary school graduates, mature applicants, community college applicants, university transfers, out-of-province, and international students; university graduates who plan to register as special students; students seeking admission to the Post-RN (Nursing) or Compressed Time-Frame Nursing programs; and out-of-province applicants to the Preliminary Year at Brescia University College.
* Applicants to Physical Therapy, Communication Sciences and Disorders, and Occupational Therapy apply through the Ontario Rehabilitation Sciences Programs Application Services (ORPAS). Please see the Faculty of Health Sciences section of this Calendar for more details.
