HONORS SPECIALIZATION IN FRENCH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE


Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.0 principal courses, including French 020E or 021 plus 2.0 additional courses, with no mark in these principal courses below 60%.

2.0 courses in second year: French 271, 290E
1.0 course in second year from: French 232E, 242E, 252E, 295
1.0 course: in third year French 381
1.5 courses from: French 342F/G, 362F/G, 372F/G, 382F/G
0.5 course from: French 302F/G, 392F/G
1.0 course from: French 306F/G, 312F/G, 322F/G, 332F/G. (French 312F/G is highly recommended)
0.5 course from: French 473a/b, 475a/b, 474a/b (Huron)
2.0 additional courses in French at the 300 level or above (among these, 0.5 course in French literature at the 400 level is highly recommend)
0.5 additional course in French literature at the 400 level from: French 401F/G, 402F/G, 404F/G, 406F/G, 408F/G, 412F/G, 498F/G

Note: French 290E is a prerequisite for further studies in French Literature and French 295 is a prerequisite for further studies in French Linguistics.
