HONORS SPECIALIZATION IN THE SOCIOLOGY OF HEALTH AND AGING

Enrolment in this module is limited. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee that students wishing to transfer into this module will be offered enrolment.


Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.0 principal courses, including Sociology 020 or 021E plus 2.0 additional courses, with no mark in these principal courses below 60%.

4.5 courses: Sociology 202, the former Sociology 231 or Sociology 205a/b and 206a/b, Sociology 246a/b, 247a/b, Sociology 300a/b, 302a/b, 404F/G
1.0 course from: Sociology 240E or Sociology 270a/b and 271a/b
1.0 course from: Sociology 308F/G, 315F/G, 408F/G, 476F/G
1.5 courses from: Sociology 179a/b, 232 (or the former Sociology 232E), 233 or 234E, 235, 263a/b, 314F/G. Sociology 308F/G, 315F/G, 408F/G, 476F/G may also be taken to fulfill this requirement if not taken above.
1.0 course from: Anthropology 290F/G, Epidemiology and Biostatistics 330b, Health Sciences 202F/G, 204F/G, 205a/b, 206a/b, 207a/b, History of Science 220, Philosophy 152E*, 153F/G*, 283F/G, Psychology 152a/b.

Note: Only 1.0 course at the 100 level may be taken in the Honors Specialization module.
