ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR ONTARIO HIGH SCHOOL APPLICANTS

Enrolment in first year is limited and admission is competitive. The minimum admission average is determined each year and is dependent on the number and quality of applicants, and number of available places in each faculty and/or program.

Students presenting the Ontario Grade 12 Secondary School curriculum must complete an Ontario Secondary School Diploma including:

  1. Completion of six Grade 12 U and/or M level courses.
  2. Completion of ENG4U.
  3. Completion of required prerequisites as specified by Western.
  4. Satisfactory completion of the Literacy Test (except for those students who entered Grade 9 in 1999/2000).
  5. An admission average including all pre-requisite courses as specified by Western.

Students are able to provide information about circumstances that may have adversely affected their academic performance in high school including, financial circumstances, required employment, disability or illness, or other personal and family matters. This information will be taken into consideration in the admissions process.

Students are also able to provide information pertaining to commitment to extra-curricular activities and active citizenship through ongoing contributions to school and community life. These forms may be downloaded from http://welcome.uwo.ca/preview/admissions/forms.html
