COMBINATIONS

French Language and Literature or French Linguistics and Literature may be combined with such subjects as Anthropology, English, Film Studies, German, History, Latin, Mathematics, Music *, Philosophy, Psychology, Political Science, Religious Studies, Russian, Spanish, Visual Arts, Comparative Literature and Culture, or Women's Studies *.

* French and Music may be combined only as BMus (Hons) or BA (Hons Music) with a concentration in French. French and Film Studies, Comparative Literature and Culture or Women's Studies may be combined only as Honors French with an area of concentration in another subject.

In all these combinations French 271 will be taken, normally in second year. French 290E is required in order to take Honors French with an area of concentration in another subject. In this case, one of French 232E, 242E, 295 or 252E (given at Huron University College) is recommended as an option. Note that French 290E is the prerequisite for further courses in French literature, and French 295 is the prerequisite for further courses in French linguistics.

If, in the third and fourth years, the student decides to take Honors French with an area of concentration in the other subject, the French courses will be the third and fourth year principal courses of the French Language and Literature or French Linguistics and Literature program. Should the student choose to take Honors in the other subject and an area of concentration in French, the required French courses will be French 271, 381 and at least three full-course equivalents from French courses numbered 200 or higher.

Students interested in registering in combinations should consult departmental advisors in both departments before choosing their courses.
