HONORS PROGRAMS


PHILOSOPHY
Admission Requirements

First year with 3.0 principal courses. One of Philosophy 020E, 021 or 022E is very strongly recommended.

A minimum average of 70% in 3.0 principal courses with no mark less than 60% in these courses and no failures.


Program

After the first year a total of at least 9.0 Honors Philosophy courses and 6.0 options is required. Additional Philosophy courses may be included among the options, but all Honors Philosophy courses taken will be regarded as principal courses.


Second Year

All of Philosophy 200F/G, 201F/G, 210F/G, 211F/G, and 212 or 234w/x or the former 222a/b must be taken in second year. Philosophy 225F/G and 226F/G are strongly recommended. Students contemplating graduate work in philosophy should take Philosophy 322a/b if possible.


Third and Fourth Years

4.0 Philosophy courses at the 300- or 400 level are required. At least 1.0 course must come from some combination of Philosophy 302F/G, 303F/G, 306F/G, 310F/G, 325F/G, 326F/G, 352E (King’s), 354E(Huron), 362E (King’s) or the former 332E
