THREE-YEAR BA IN ENGLISH


Admission Requirements

At least 60% in English 020E (preferred), or English 022E, or 024E . Students should consult with the Department prior to admission.


Program

5.0 senior English courses including:

    1.0 course from: English 211, 212, 214E /314E, 224E /324E, 234E /334E
    1.0 course from: English 244E /344E, 253E /353E, 254E /354E, 264E /364E, 274E /374E
    1.0 additional English honors course not already chosen
    2.0 additional senior English essay courses at the 100- or 200-level
    Students may substitute for 1.0 senior English course, 1.0 course from an approved list of offerings in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities: permission of the Department required.

Students registered in a double area of concentration may apply for permission to substitute 1.0 related course from the other area for this additional English course.

Note: English 117 (Reading Popular Culture), and courses in Writing cannot be used to fulfill Area of Concentration requirements.

  2. Students registered in the program prior to September 1996 may graduate under the regulations in force at the time of their entry into second year: English 020E, 022E, or 024E. 5.0 senior English courses including:

    Poetry: English 204F/G, 208F/G
    Drama: 1.0 course from English 284E, 285E, 232E, 233E, 288E, 289E, 286F/G, 287F/G
    Narrative Prose: 1.0 course from the former English 130, English 133E, 135E, 209E, 253E
    1.0 course from: English 214E, 224E, 234E, 244E, 254E, 264E, 274E One additional English essay course at the 100- or 200-level, which may be Writing (except the former Writing 105F/G)
  3. Students registered in the program prior to September 1990, should consult with the Department.
