The completion of these combined degrees takes five academic years. In Year 1, students must complete the admission requirements for entry into an Honors Specialization module offered by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. To be considered for admission to this combined program, students must complete a minimum of 10.0 courses including Business Administration 2257 and the required second year courses for an Honors Specialization module in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. A minimum of 5.0 courses must be taken in each of Years 1 and 2. Students apply for the combined degree program during the HBA 1 year, typically their third year of University. Entrance to the program may be limited.
In Year 2, students must enroll in an Honors Specialization offered by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and achieve a minimum 75% modular average. They must also gain admission to the HBA program through the regular application process. In addition, students must normally attain a minimum weighted average of 78% in the first year of the HBA.
To be considered for admission to this competitive program, students must achieve the following requirements:
- a minimum overall average of 75% on the 10.0 courses of
Years 1 and 2;
- a minimum modular average of 75% with no mark less than 60% in each modular course in Year 2 and a passing grade in each option;
- a minimum grade of 70% in Business Administration 2257;
- demonstrated participation in extracurricular and/or community activities, leadership, and work experience.
Students applying to the Richard Ivey School of Business Advanced Entry Opportunity (AEO) are also eligible to be considered for the Combined Degree Program.
