SOCIOLOGY OF FILM
This course uses film to introduce and explore sociological themes and concepts. Sociological film interpretation is emphasized, along with standard accounts of the meaning of particular movies. Students will be encouraged to go beyond conventional theories of plot and character motivation, and analyze film from their own sociologically informed perspective.
Antirequisite(s): The former Sociology 2250A/B.
Prerequisite(s): 1.0 from Sociology courses at the 1000 level and third or fourth year standing in a Sociology or Criminology module.
