History



Admission Requirements


Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.0 principal courses with no mark in these principal courses below 60%, and including at least 0.5 course from History 1401E, History 1404E, History 1601E, History 1801E, History 1812F/G, History 1813F/G or History 1814F/G, History 1820F/G, History 1901E, or the former History 1403E).

1.0 course from: Canadian History 2201E, History 2203E, History 2205E.
1.0 course: United States History 2301E.
1.0 course: European History 2403E.
1.0 course from: World or Comparative - Thematic History 2501E, History 2650E, History 2800F/G, History 2808F/G, History 4701E, History 4805E.

Note: 3.0 of the 4.0 core courses must be taken before year 4.
Note: If History 4701E or History 4805E is taken for the World/Comparative requirement, 1.0 History at the 2200 level or above can be substituted for 1.0 at the 4000 level.

1.0 additional course in History at the 2200 level or above.
2.0 courses in History at the 3000 level.
2.0 courses in History at the 4000 level.

To progress in the Honors Specialization module in History, 3.0 of the 4.0 mandatory core courses must be completed with an average of at least 70% with no mark less than 60%.

Note: Classical Studies 3400E: Greek and Roman History may be counted as a principal course towards a History module.
