A first-level course in Modern Standard Chinese (Mandarin). The course is specifically designed for dialect speakers who also have a basic knowledge of written Chinese. Emphasis will be placed on speaking, listening, and conversational skills. Prepares students for progression to International and Comparative Studies 023a/b. |
| Antirequisites: International and Comparative Studies 027, 024, or the former Modern Eastern Civilizations 022a/b, 024, or 027. |
