Linguistics 028a/b Introduction to Language |
Aquaints students with human language and how it relates to society and to the mind. Topics include applications of linguistics, such as language acquisition, language and law, language disorders, and language variation across time, space and society. |
Prerequisite: Anthropology 027a/b, Linguistics 288a/b, French 295, Spanish 303a or permission of Linguistics program. |
3 lecture hours, half course. |
Note: This half course may be counted as either an Arts half credit or a Social Science half credit. |
