Interpreting starlight. Stellar spectra, radiation transfer in gases, models of stellar atmospheres, spectral lines and their analysis. |
| Prerequisites: Calculus 250a/b and 251a/b, or the former Applied Mathematics 200 or the former Mathematics 204a and 205b; plus the former Physics 256a and 258b; or permission of the Department. |
| 3 lecture hours, half course. |
