Media, Information and Technoculture 239a/b Sound Tracks: Sound in Film and Television |
Develops a sensitivity to the various elements of the sound track and their relationship to moving images and narrative structures. Covers the aesthetics and practices of film and television sound, and also the historical, social, psychological, technological, and economic factors relating to the production and reception of sounds and images. |
Antirequisite: MIT 250G if taken in 2000-2001; MIT 250F if taken in 1999-2000. |
Prerequisite: Registration in the second or third year of an MIT Area of Concentration, Honors or Combined Honors Program. |
