Course Description

English 227F/G Literature of the 16c: Major Authors (Survey)

Introduction to the works of such writers as More, Spenser, Sidney, Marlowe and Shakespeare in relation to the social, political and aesthetic contexts of the time.

Antirequisite: English 224E and 226E

Prerequisites: At least 60% in an 020-level English course, and at least 60% in all subsequent English courses, or permission of the department.

3 hours, half course.
