This course presents a systematic approach to carrying out material and energy balance calculations. The following are covered: formulation of the material and energy balance, Material and Energy Balances in Reacting and Nonreacting Systems, degree of freedom analysis, single and multiple units, single, multiple reactions, elemental balances, fossil fuels heats of reaction. Tutorial provides practice in problem solving. |

| Prerequisite: CBE 216 or the former ES 216. |
