Development of the basics of quantum mechanics, including the postulates, operators, eigenfunctions, eigenvalues, stationary states, and the theory of angular momentum. Applications to quantum-mechanical tunneling, the harmonic oscillator, the rigid rotator and the hydrogen atom, with further applications to spectroscopy and molecular orbitals. |

Pre- or corequisite: Applied Mathematics 290a or the former Applied Mathematics 281a. |
