Admission Requirements

A complete first year program that includes the following courses with a minimum mark of 60% in each: Calculus 050a/b plus 051a/b, or Applied Mathematics 026, or the former Applied Mathematics 020, or 023a/b plus 024a/b, or the former Mathematics 027
Statistical Sciences 023a/b+
Linear Algebra 040a/b*
Statistical Sciences 024a/b is strongly recommended

*If Linear Algebra 040a/b is not taken in first year, it must be taken prior to the second term of second year.

+If Statistical Sciences 023a/b is not taken in first year, it must be taken during second year.

Second Year

Statistical Sciences 257a
Statistical Sciences 259a/b plus one of 258b or 260b; or the former Statistical Sciences 255
One of Mathematics 203b or 283b; one of Calculus 250a/b or 280a/b, plus one of Calculus 251a/b or 281a/b, or the former Mathematics 204a plus one of the former Mathematics 205b or 285b; Statistical Sciences 023a (if not taken in first year).

Sufficient courses to bring the total number of courses taken to five.

Third Year

Two half courses in Statistical Sciences numbered 310 and above.
Four half courses in Mathematics or Statistical and Actuarial Sciences at the 200-level or above
Two course options

The Area of Concentration will consist of the 6.0 senior-level Mathematics, Statistical Sciences, and Actuarial Science courses which are specified in second and third year. Other requirements are listed in PROGRAMS/PROGRESSION in the ACADEMIC INFORMATION section.
