HONORS PROGRAM

Admission Requirements

First year program in Arts, Science or Social Science including Politics 020E. All courses will be considered principal courses in first year. Honors students must consult the Department to ensure that their program includes a well-balanced distribution of courses involving at least three of the following five areas: Canadian Government, Comparative Government, International Relations, Urban and Regional Government and Political Theory.

Note: Students seeking admission to the Honors Program after second year must consult the Department for additional admission requirements.

Program

Second Year

Politics 237E, Politics 230E or 234E, and Politics 231E or 245E
Two options (not to include 100-level Political Science courses)

Third and Fourth Years

Five Honors Politics courses (which may include 230E, 231E, 234E or 245E if not already taken). At least two of these five Honors Politics full-course equivalent courses must be at the 300-level or above
Five options (not to include 100-level Political Science courses)

Note: History 457E (Warfare) can be counted as a principal course in the Honors Political Science program.
