COMPUTER ENGINEERING PROGRAM

This program is offered the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and is accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board. The Computer Engineering curriculum deals with the design of hardware elements and building of computer systems of various levels of complexity. The Computer Engineering program includes courses in digital logic, VLSI, microelectronics, control systems and signal processing, as well as a number of courses devoted to the software tools required for control and operation of computer hardware.

Admission Requirements for the Computer Engineering Program

Students entering the Computer Engineering Program must have completed the common first year curriculum of Engineering Science with at least 60% YWA and passing grades in Applied Mathematics 025a/b, Physics 026 and a minimum of 60% in both Computer Science 026a/b and in Applied Mathematics 026. In order to remain in the Computer Engineering Program, students must also obtain at least 60% in Computer Science 027a/b to be taken in the second year.

Fourth Year Program

ECE 416, ECE 434a/b, ECE 470a/b, ECE 480a/b, ES 498F/G, Business Administration 299, Three Technical Elective half courses from the list below and one non-technical half course from the approved list.

The former Engineering Science 360a/b, ECE 370a/b, ECE 430a/b, ECE 431a/b, ECE 432a/b, ECE 433a/b, ECE 436a/b, ECE 437a/b, ECE 438a/b, ECE 451a/b, ECE 468a/b, ECE 469a/b, MME 452a/b, MME 473a/b, MME 487a/b, ECE 489a/b, & 2 courses to be determined.

Maximum of one Computer Science half-course from the following:

Computer Science 305a/b, 307a/b/y, 319a/b, 340a/b, 342a/b, 346a/b.

Some technical electives may not be offered in a given academic year.
