Completion of first-year requirements, including 1.0 course from English 1020 to English 1999 with a mark of at least 60%.

1.0 course: English 2301E or the former 2307E.
1.0 course from: English 2401E, English 2501E, English 2601E or the former 2308E, the former English 2309E, the former English 2310E.
1.0 course from: English 2200F/G, English 2201F/G, English 2202F/G, English 2203F/G, English 2230F/G or the former English 2210F/G, the former English 2220F/G.
1.0 course from: English 3318E, or the former English 3115E, English 3116E.
1.0 course from: English 3338E, 3330E, 3556E or the former English 3226E, the former English 3227E.
2.0 courses from English 2357F/G, English 3326F/G, English 3328E, English 3329F/G, English 3348F/G, or the former English 3224E, the former English 3228F/G, the former English 3334E, the former English 3336F/G, the former English 3444E, the former English 3446F/G, the former English 3554E or the former English 3557F/G.
Note: With Department permission, English 3479F/G, English 3579F/G or the former English 3667F/G, the former English 3777F/G may be counted toward this requirement.
2.0 additional courses in English at the 2200 level or above. Up to 1.0 course may be substituted from any 2000-2199 level English essay (E, F, or G) course.
Note: French or a foreign language is recommended for students intending to apply to graduate schools or professional programs.
