STUDIES IN THEORY III
Continuation of the former Music 1650A/B. Basic theory and analysis of chromatic tonal music from c.1700 to the late-nineteenth century. Topics covered include advanced modal mixture, the Neapolitan chord, augmented sixth chords, altered and extended chords, an introduction to late-Romantic harmony, and a study of form in Romantic Lied.
Prerequisite(s): The former Music 1650A/B.
