Medical Sciences 4900F/G

ADVANCED IMS LABORATORY


Offered jointly by Basic Medical Science Departments, this laboratory course introduces students to a variety of techniques used in medical research. Major topics include models of human disease, real time PCR, biochemical assays, histology, and medical imaging. The laboratory provides an introduction to research, with emphasis on hands-on experience.

Prerequisite(s): A course from Group 3 in the Honors Specialization in Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences (IMS) and registration in Year 4 of an Honors Specialization in IMS. Corequisite(s): Medical Sciences 4930F/G must be taken concurrently.

Extra Information: Limited enrollment. 4 laboratory hours per week.
