ENVIRONMENTAL MICROBIOLOGY


An introduction to the role of microorganisms in geochemical processes within Earth’s diverse environments over time. Topics include methods for the analysis of bacteria, factors affecting their community structure and function, and their relationship to biogeochemistry. The laboratory component will introduce students to fundamental microbiological techniques and research methods.

Prerequisite(s): 1.0 course from Biology 1001A, Biology 1002B, Chemistry 1301A/B, Chemistry 1302A/B, Integrated Science 1001X.
