CRITICAL PERSPECTIVES IN ADVERTISING


This course examines some of the issues that arise from our commercial – and often noncommercial – advertising activities. Topics include the psycho-social, economic, political and cultural impacts of advertising such as advertising’s effects on consumer markets, its influence on our purchase and life-style decisions, the possible perpetuation of stereotypes and other promises and perils pertaining to this industry.
