HEALTH, MEDIA AND INFORMATION
This course introduces students to the concepts and debates surrounding the intersections of health and media/information. Topics may include the social determinants of health and the media; the interrelationship between pharmaceutical marketing and advertising; Indigenous health issues and media coverage; the medicalization of pregnancy and childbirth; and global pandemics.
Antirequisite(s): MIT 2165F if taken in 2016-17, 2017-18 or 2018-19 or MIT 2165G in 2018-19.
