GIRL WARRIORS: YOUTH ACTIVISM AND SOCIAL JUSTICE
Girls are active participants and leaders in numerous social movements across the globe. This course explores how girls construct activist identities, redefining normative constructions of girlhood while claiming political authority for young people. The course also interrogates how activist girls are perceived and represented by media, governments, NGOs, and academics.
Prerequisite(s): GSWS 1020E, or 1.0 course from GSWS 1021F/G, GSWS 1022F/G, GSWS 1024F/G, or GSWS 1030F/G.
