Admission Requirements


Completion of first-year requirements, including at least a 0.5 course in History with a minimum mark of 60%.

0.5 course: History 2801F/G or History 2811F/G.
0.5 course: History 3710F/G, History 3809F/G, History 4710F/G, or History 4861F/G.
0.5 course: History 3810A/B.
2.5 additional courses from: History 2189A/B, History 2800F/G, History 2801F/G, History 2811F/G, History 2886F/G, History 3208F/G, History 3710F/G, History 3801E, History 3809F/G, History 3812F/G, History 3840F/G, History 3885F/G, History 3901F/G, History 4213F/G, History 4218F/G, History 4605E, History 4710F/G, History 4806F/G, History 4810F/G, History 4816A/B, History 4818F/G, History 4861F/G.
(NOTE: Students who have taken History 3813E may count it towards this module in place of History 3810A/B and only need to take 2.0 courses from the list above.)

Students may replace up to 1.0 courses from the above list. See the History Department website for the approved list of other courses from departments and programs such as Anthropology (Archaeology), Classical Studies, Digital Humanities, English and Cultural Studies, Geography, History, and Visual Arts (Museum and Curatorial Studies). Other suitable courses with significant public history content may be counted by special permission. 

NOTE: Students may complete an Honours Specialization or Major in History and also complete a Minor in Public History. No double counting is allowed: that is, courses taken to fulfill the requirements of this module cannot fulfill the requirements of any other modules at the university.
