Certificate CERTIFICATE IN PRACTICAL SPANISH

Admission Requirements


Completion of first-year requirements including 1.0 course from Spanish 1030 with a mark of at least 60% or Grade 12U Spanish. A student may not pursue both a Certificate in Practical Spanish and a Spanish module.


Module/Program Information


Certificate Program

2.0 courses: Spanish 2200 and Spanish 3300 (or the former Spanish 3301E).
1.0 course from: Spanish 2214A/B, Spanish 2215F/G, Spanish 2216F/G, Spanish 2220A/B, Spanish 2500F/G, Spanish 3303A/B, Spanish 3327A/B, Spanish 3421F/G, Spanish 3422F/G, Spanish 3500G, the former Spanish 2800F/G.

Note: At least 2.0 of the 3.0 courses must be taken at Western.


Progression


Progression and Graduation Requirements
To progress and complete the program, students must achieve and maintain a minimum average of 70% in the required courses. If a course in the Certificate program is waived by the department on the basis of existing language proficiency, other Spanish courses will have to be taken so that the total number of course credits is 3.0.
