Course Description

International and Comparative Studies 023a/b Basic Standard Chinese For Dialect Speakers

A first-level course in Modern Standard Chinese (Mandarin) and continuation of International and Comparative Studies 022a/b. The course is specifically designed for dialect speakers who also have a basic knowledge of written Chinese. Students will continue to improve their speaking, listening and convesational skills, and to develop their comprehension of written Chinese. Prepares studets for progression to International and Comparative Studies 124.

Antirequisites: International and Comparative Studies 027, 024, or the former Modern Eastern Civilizations 023a/b, 024, or 027.
