Course Description

English 200 Reading Criticism Reading Literature

Mandatory for students in Honors English, the course includes representative readings in literary theory; an introduction to selected strategies of literary interpretation; an introduction to the formal analysis of narrative, drama, and poetry; consideration of the ways which literary interpretation is engaged with questions, theories, and intellectual currents from other disciplines.

Antirequisites: English 201a/b, 215a/b, 216F/G, 491E.
