Introduction to elementary solid state theory, high pressure geophysics, phase transformations, elasticity, physical properties and mineral physics of the Earth's mantle and core. |
| Prerequisites: Calculus 280a/b and 281a/b, or Applied Mathematics 290a and 291b; or the former Applied Mathematics 281a and 282b, or 200; Earth Sciences 321a; or Earth Sciences 310a/b. |
