Course Description

Earth Sciences 470a/b Mineral Deposits and Evolution of Crustal Environments

Advanced- level study of the geology, origin, economic significance, and change through geologic time of major metal deposits. Problems of source, transport, and deposition are discussed within crustal evolution. Where possible these deposits are examined in the field, in context of the regional geology.

Prerequisite: Earth Sciences 371b or permission of the Department.
2 lecture hours, 3 seminar/laboratory hours, half course.
