Course Description

ECE 208a/b Electrical Measurement and Instrumentation

Measurements: System of units, errors. Basic resistive circuits: Ohm's, Kirchhoff's Laws; DC analyis: nodal and mesh analysis, superposition, Thévenin's/Norton's theorems; Sinusoidal steady-state analysis: phasors, complex power; Basic OpAmp circuitry; Boolean circuits; Transducers.

Antirequisite: ECE 205a/b, the former ES 207a, ES 208a/b.
Prerequisites: Applied Mathematics 025a/b, 026, Physics 026, Computer Science 026a/b, or the former ES 030.
Corequisite: Applied Mathematics 277.
3 lecture hours, 1 laboratory hour, half course.
