Students entering third or fourth year of a BMSc degree in September 2013 will register in an Honors Specialization or Specialization in Medical Sciences. Students entering second year in September 2013 will register in an Honors Specialization or Specialization in Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences (IMS). See INTERDISCIPLINARY MEDICAL SCIENCES (IMS).
As of September 1, 2013, admission to the Major in Medical Sciences will be available only to students in degrees other than Bachelor of Medical Sciences (BMSc) degrees, with the exception that students registered in a Bachelor of Medical Sciences (BMSc) degree prior to September 1, 2013 may complete the Major in Medical Sciences. The Science/BMSc Internship Program The Science/BMSc Intership Program includes a series of preparatory sessions, an 8-16 month practical career-related experience in an employment setting, and a post-internship component. All students enrolled in the 3rd year of a 4-year undergraduate Science or Basic Medical Science Honors Specialization, Specialization, or in a Major + Major combination [where at least one of the Majors is in Science or Basic Medical Science] are eligible to enroll in the Science/BMSc Internship Program, if they satisfy the eligibility requirements.
