HONORS SPECIALIZATION IN COMPUTER SCIENCE
The Honors Specialization in Computer Science leads to a Computer Science degree that is accredited by the Computer Science Accreditation Council, the academic arm of the Canadian Information Processing Society. This specialization, in combination with the department's Minor in Software Engineering, leads to degree that is accredited by CSAC as a Software Engineering degree.

Admission Requirements
Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.0 principal courses, with no mark in these principal courses below 60%, including:

0.5 course from: Computer Science 2214A/B, Mathematics 2155F/G or the former Mathematics 2155A/B.
0.5 course from: Writing 2101F/G, Writing 2111F/G, Writing 2125F/G, Writing 2131F/G.
0.5 course: Computer Science 4490Z.
1.0 additional course in Computer Science at the 4000 level.

Note: Students who are also pursuing the Software Engineering Minor or the Game Development Minor must take Computer Science 4470Y or 4480Y respectively. If either minor is taken, Computer Science 4490Z must be replaced in the Honors Specialization with a 0.5 course in Computer Science at the 4000 level. Students completing this Honors Specialization must include at least 5.0 courses offered by departments other than Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, and Statistical and Actuarial Sciences in order to graduate.
