Students critically examine the impact of new information and communication technology on contemporary politics. Considering divergent perspectives on the digital future, students will be introduced to theoretical and empirical literature in surveillance studies and science and technology studies, focusing on the changing nature of power, information, identity, the body, and the state in the 21st century.
Prerequisite(s): Enrolment in third or fourth year of an Honours Specialization or Honours Double Major in Political Science or Sociology, or permission of the department.
