HONORS SPECIALIZATION IN ART HISTORY AND MUSEUM STUDIES

Admission Requirements
Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.0 principal courses, including 1.0 course from Visual Arts History 1040 or two of VAH 1041A/B, VAH 1042A/B, VAH 1043A/B, VAH 1044A/B or VAH 1045A/B, with a minimum grade of 60% in each course.

4.0 courses in Visual Arts History at the 2200 level.
1.0 course from VAH 2292F/G; VAH 3383A/B/Y or VAS 3383A/B/Y; VAH 4485E or VAS 4485E; VAH 4496A/B/Y or VAS 4496A/B/Y, the former VAH 3386F/G.
2.0 courses in Visual Arts History at the 3300 level.
1.0 course in Visual Arts History at the 4400 level.
1.0 additional course in Visual Arts History at the 2200 level or above.
Notes:
- A minimum of 1.0 Visual Arts History course must be in the historical eras prior to 1800.
- A maximum of 1.0 Visual Arts History course at the 3300 level may be substituted with 1.0 of Classical Studies 3520E, Classical Studies 3530E, Classical Studies 3550E, Classical Studies 3555E or Classical Studies 3500F/G.
- Students considering graduate studies in Art History or other Humanities disciplines are strongly encouraged to study a language other than English, during their undergraduate years.
